Valentine's Day Parties!

We had so much fun at our Valentine's Day parties!! Thanks to the room parents and other parents that helped supply treats, games, projects, etc.! We really appreciate all of your hard work!

In the morning class we frosted heart shaped cookies and added sprinkles! They were yummy!

We also went on a "candy heart hunt"! We found candy hearts around the room and then colored our paper according to what color of hearts we found! This was a great activity that kept us very busy and engaged!

In the afternoon we also got the chance to frost heart shaped cookies and add sprinkles! This was a great idea for both classes!

Next, we played Valentine's Day Bingo! We all got the chance to win some fun stickers!

Last we got to play a fun game where we tossed little squishy animals into buckets. The room parents were nice enough to let us keep our animals when we were done!

Both parties were a great success! Thanks again to all who helped or volunteered their time!

More Center Time Learning!

Each day the students find new inventive ways to interact with their peers and use the materials around the classroom! They have really come a long way from the beginning of the year with both their social interactions and their ability to explore and use the fine motor/academic objects in the room! Take a look!
(Using pattern blocks to build pictures and discover shapes)

(In the writing center we practice letters, numbers, shapes, and get the chance to use our creativity and draw pictures! Here is a picture of a dinosaur!)

(The doll house center is a great place to interact with friends and use our imagination!)

(Putting together alphabet puzzles in the Literacy Center!)

(In the Blocks Center, creativity is endless! :))

(In the Math Center, we love learning about shapes, colors, patterns, etc.!)

Dental Health

We were lucky enough to get the chance to get FREE fluoride treatments a couple weeks back! (These were the green sheets you filled out at the beginning of the year stating whether your child could receive the treatment or not.) This was good to have just a couple weeks before we have our dental health unit! The dental team came back today to put on a puppet show about taking care of your teeth! (Unfortunately, I was home sick today so I don't have pictures of this to share.)

Here are a couple pictures from the teeth cleaning day. The kids did such a great job and were very brave! :)

Beach Day!

After earning enough blue tickets for good character, the whole school got to have a Beach Day! (We don't tend to do the blue tickets as much in Pre-K as they do in the other building, but in my class I do give out star stickers on a chart when I see good behavior or good character- so we celebrated for having so many stickers on our chart!) The students got to wear their swim gear and have a day full of beach music, games, and snacks! This was definitely a nice "get away" from the cold weather outside the building! :)

We read a story about a sand castle contest while the students got to sit on their beach towels and have some Goldfish crackers for a snack!

For a craft we got to make star-shaped sunglasses! They decorated their glasses and then cut them out the best they could! Those star shapes were tricky!

Next we listened to some beach music and played with beach balls! In the afternoon we go to play "Hot Potato" with balloons in Ms. Wefel's class!

Lastly, we got to play with sand and build sand castles out of blocks! This was a lot of fun!!  (Unfortunately, I had to leave a little early to coach so I don't have any afternoon pictures of this activity!)

We are now working towards another party by the end of the year for good behavior and good character! :)
